Most of the Nursing and Health Sciences books are located in the Atherton Library. It is best to search for books using HPU Discovery first then go and find those books in the stacks. Once you find a book in the stacks look around that area, you might find additional books as they are arranged by subject.
Looking for a book but is not in our collection? You can search the collections of other local libraries that are open to the public.

Once you find print books from our HPU Discovery tool, you should take note of the location, the call number, and the availability in order to find them in the HPU Libraries.
Remember there are two libraries collections: Atherton at Hawaii Loa Campus and Waterfront Library at our Downtown location. With your call number in hand go to the appropriate library and location to find your books.
Read the call number from left to right by sections- find the letters first then the whole number next to it, follow by the letter and number combination, and the year at the end.
Books are arranged by subject using the Library of Congress classification system. This means that when you find a book you may find other relevant books next to it. If you cannot find a book, Ask A Librarian!
