Citation Management Tools

Citation management tools allow a user to store, organize, share and retrieve citation information from books, articles, and Web sites, by interfacing with library databases. The citation manager then works with word-processing software to insert properly formatted footnotes or citations into a paper and create a properly formatted bibliography in a variety of citation styles.

There are many citation management tools available for free or purchase. The HPU Libraries provide support for 3 free citation management tools:

EndNote  Basic

Zotero

Mendeley

Note: Citation management tools are not a perfect as some data exported to them might be incorrect; always double check your references with the proper citation style.

Upcoming Workshops
