Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week

The HPU Libraries are joining with other libraries across the country in observing Banned Books Week, September 22-28, 2024. Banned Books week is an annual event that draws national attention to banned and challenged books.

This guide is intended as an introduction and access point to Banned Books Week observances at the HPU Libraries. If you have questions, please visit us online  or stop by the Reference Desk at the Library at Waterfront Plaza.

First observed in 1982, Banned Books Week is a collaborative effort by librarians, authors, readers and like-minded individuals.  We hope you will join us by standing up and defending the freedom to read.
