Destress with HPU Libraries

Study Breaks

Take time to recharge: our brains need occasional breaks in order to stay alert and productive. Use breaks as a reward to motivate you while studying.

Sketching

Take short breaks to create a landscape of receding mountains. Use a ruler or the edge of a piece of paper to trace angular lines inspired by mountains. Cut zigzag lines in several ways to use as templates. Then, with the help of the templates, draw straight likes going upward, downward, diagonally, and so on for individual layers. Each layer should take about 3 minutes, perfect for de-stressing between assignments and studies.

Take a 10-minute break or two 5-minute breaks to sketch and destress. Start with any shapes: circles, triangles, rainbows, etc. Repeat the shapes freestyle, the repetition will zen you out. Then add color repeating the pattern and finalize it with a positive mantra to make it through finals.

Sketch Your Stress Away: Take 15 minutes to sketch an animal at home or from a picture. Start with the basic shapes, then add details, shading, and color. It doesn’t need to be purrrfect - just ease your mind by sketching away. Share your sketches with us.
