How do I Find Peer-Reviewed Articles? (Lloyd Sealy Library/ HPU Library )
The easiest and fastest way to find peer-reviewed articles on sciences is to;
Search HPU Discovery:
-enter a search term(s) in the search box (e.g. biomedical engineering)
-check "Peer Reviewed" under the Content Type to limit your search result only to peer-reviewed articles.
-choose a Subject to narrow down further
-click “Show More” to view all the Subject options available
Search the databases that include only peer-reviewed /scholarly /academic journals/books primarily on Engineering, Science, Technology and Medicine.
-- ACS Publications
-- Academic OneFile (GALE)
-- Computer Science (GALE)
-- Computer Science (EBSCO)
-- JSTOR
-- Nature Journal Online
-- PubMed @ HPU
-- Science
-- ScienceDirect
-- SpringerLink
Search the multi-subject databases, many of which include peer-reviewed journals: EBSCO databases (EBSCOhost Main Databases) and Gale Databases.
-- Choose a Database:
To search within a single database, click the database name listed under EBSCOhost Databases (EBSCO) or Gale Databases.
-- choose the Advanced Search option. On the search screen, look for a check-box that allows you to limit your results to peer-reviewed only.
-- organize your results by source. For example, the database Academic Search Complete will let you choose the tab "Peer-Reviewed Journals."
Use the library's UlrichsWeb to see if an article you found is a journal article or not as needed.
