EndNote Basic: Google Scholar

Learn how to use EndNote Basic to manage your references.

Exporting References from Google Scholar at HPU

Note that this process is easiest if you are using Firefox with the extension installed and pop-up blocker disabled.

 

If you have a Google account, click Sign in to log in to your Google account and click Settings. On the Scholar Settings, select RefMan as the default Bibliography Manager and click Save. (Choose other setting optons as needed)

*Note: If you don't have a Google account, skip to step #12.


Run your search in Google Scholar at HPU.  Select a reference you would like to save to your EndNote Basic account, and click on Import into RefMan. Please note that Google Scholar allows exporting only one reference at a time.

If your computer's settings are optimal, you will be prompted to log in to your EndNote Basic account. Your references will export directly into your EndNote Basic account.

* Tips: Keep exporting references until you're done, then go to EndNote Basic and add them to a group.


Open a new tab in your browser and click on the EndNote button on the top left side of the screen to log in to your EndNote Basic account.

Click on [Unfiled] to display the reference(s) that you have saved. Check off the box(es) located to the left of the reference(s) you would like to add to a group. Select an existing group or create a new group.


Your references should be saved to the specified group.


 

Step #12

If you don't have a Google account, do not click Settings but just run your search in Google Scholar at HPU.  Select a reference you would like to save to your EndNote Basic account, and click on Cite. Please note that Google Scholar allows exporting only one reference at a time.


 Select Import option: Import into RefMan.  Check the box if you wish to use RefMan as your bibliography manager while you're searching. If you don't check the box, you may need to repeat the process the next time you export.


If your computer's settings are optimal, you will be prompted to log in to your EndNote Basic account. Your references will export directly into your EndNote Basic account.
