EndNote Basic: Sharing Groups

Learn how to use EndNote Basic to manage your references.

If you are working collaboratively on a project, you may want to share your references with someone else.  Follow the steps on this page to share your references. 

Note that your collaborator must have (or must create) an EndNote Basic account, and you need to know the email address s/he used to create it.  Also note that attachments (such as full-text pdfs) will NOT be shared.

Sharing Groups

1.    Click on the Organize tab.  You should be in Manage My Groups.

2.    Check off the Share box for the group you want to share.

3.    Click on Manage Sharing for the group.



4.   On the next screen, click on Start sharing this group.

5.   In the pop-up box that appears, enter the email address for your collaborator.

6.   Next, choose the button for either Read only or Read & Write.

7.   Click on Apply, then Close Window.

8.   The person you indicated will now see your group in his/her own EndNote Basic account.

9.   Note that any files you have attached (such as full-text pdfs) will NOT be shared.

10.   You can stop sharing this group by going to Manage My Groups and unchecking the Share box.
